Product Insights
Veradek's Grooved Minimalist Planter, founded in Ontario for Canadian winters, delivers a stone-textured composite planter at $70 CAD—one-fifth the cost of specialist stone planters—with UV resistance, temperature endurance from -20°C to 120°C, and a 74L capacity that meets the 20-gallon threshold for statement plantings and overwintering shrubs. Removable drainage plugs offer indoor/outdoor flexibility, while its lightweight construction (8.8–17.5 lbs) eases relocation. The tradeoff: it is prone to wind-topple when empty, requiring soil or ballast for stability, and filler can reduce soil volume.
Verified claims
- Value
- At $70 CAD, it offers the grooved stone look at one-fifth the cost of specialist stone planters.
- Versatility
- Removable drainage plugs allow use as indoor cachepot or outdoor planter.
- Large planter capacity
- Large planter (74 L) meets 20-gallon threshold for statement pieces and overwinters woody shrubs.
- Canadian design
- Founded in 2013 in Ontario to engineer planters for Canadian winters.
- Winter readiness
- 74 L soil and drainage plugs enable overwintering and seasonal use.
- UV resistance
- Tested to show no UV fading after 45 days of direct sun exposure.
- Temperature endurance
- Withstands -20°C to 120°C without cracking, warping, or fading, enabling year-round outdoor use.
- Weight
- Weighs 8.8–17.5 lbs, light enough for balcony and single-person moving.
- Stability
- Vulnerable to wind-topple when empty; stable when filled with soil.
- Texture
- Stone-plastic composite has an integral rough stone texture, not a painted finish.
- Material
- Stone-textured composite resists UV fading and handles -20°C to 120°C without cracking.
- Weather resistance
- Rated for -20°C to 120°C and UV-resistant with zero fading after 45 days.
- Drainage plugs
- Removable plugs seal holes for indoor cachepot or open for outdoor drainage, with seasonal or plant-specific adjustment.
- Appearance
- Textured finish looks like real stone, and the 74L large planter meets design guidelines for a statement piece.
- Practicality
- Lightweight composite enables relocation; large sizes may need ballast in windy conditions. Drainage plugs allow indoor/outdoor use.
- Overwintering size
- 18.5-inch diameter and 19.75-inch depth keep roots below the frost line.
- Filler tradeoff
- Filler reduces soil weight for seasonal use; omit it for year-round overwintering.
- Setup flexibility
- Filler reduces effective soil volume by roughly a quarter; drainage plugs toggle between outdoor draining and indoor cachepot.
- Winter performance
- Withstands -20°C; ~19″ interior depth meets 18″ root zone and overwintering guidelines; width exceeds 16″ thermal buffer recommendation.
- Statement planting
- Tall cylindrical shape elevates thriller-filler-spiller; 74L capacity crosses 20-gallon threshold for architectural anchor.
- Low-maintenance care
- 74L soil mass buffers watering frequency; UV inhibitor prevents fading; lighter than stone for easy relocation.

Beautiful Modern Pot
I purchased the small size pot, which is quite big and solid! Will be using it inside, but is also made for outdoor use. It is very modern looking with the ribbed exterior and comes with plugs for the bottom of the pot. I decided to put the plant in another pot then inside the planter. enjoying my purchase.

Ended up buying Veradek, $140 for a 3-foot long rectangular box container was too good to pass up.
