Polarization quality caveat at Costco price point
In that price range They are probably the polarized coating on top of the lens as opposed to expensive polarized where it’s inside the lens or a better coating. I bought a pair of polarized glasses from Costco a while ago for about $40 and although I really like them, I can tell that the polarization is not good quality. (I think the ones I have are Ben Sherman). If I see these Hugo’s I’ll probably buy them.

Maui Jim specialist brand vs Hugo Boss designer
I agree. Hugo Boss is a designer brand and there's no telling what 3rd party they're enlisting to make these sunglasses. OTOH, Maui Jim is a sunglasses brand. They make their own frames and lenses. Kering Eyewear bought them out in 2022, but from what I understand hasn't changed anything about Maui Jim manufacturing.
