Product Insights

The Secrid Twinwallet is a durable, RFID-blocking leather wallet that combines a classic bifold appearance with an aluminum card case, prioritizing card protection and longevity over cash capacity. It reliably holds 8-12 cards for years, with independently tested shield against contactless and magnetic damage, but tradeoffs include limited cash space (max 2 folded bills), potential sliding of metal cards, and reduced fit for embossed cards. Best suited for travelers who carry many cards, it sacrifices daily cash convenience for a slim, secure design that lasts 5-10 years.

  • Secrid wallets used for years; comparison to Peak Design

I’ve had two Secrid wallets that I used for years (one as an everyday wallet, the other as a “travel” wallet with stuff like my Global Entry card and foreign currency). Even though I stopped using them in favor of a combo MagSafe phone wallet/phone stand, they held up extremely well and I loved them. They’re probably my most favorite wallets for using as wallets; the only reason I don’t use them is because the Peak Design wallet is only slightly less usable as a wallet but is extremely useful as a phone stand. The only time one showed any sign of damage was when I had it in my back pocket when I was playing paintball, and when I did a butt-slide into a bunker my weight on it compressed the card chamber enough that it couldn’t fit as many cards anymore.

  • Secrid card ejection issue with metal cards

Love my Secrid wallet except for this issue especially if you don't have the "right" cards, it becomes super loose. Almost lost one of my premium credit cards walking out a gas station because it just slid out while I was putting it in my pocket. Luckily my wife was watching from the car and pointed it out. Would have never known.

  • 10-year durability of Secrid wallet

I had mine for 10 years and It's still going strong. The cards stay in place and the mechanism is working perfectly. The Secrid logo have almost worn way and the outline of a emergency car key I kept inside it for 8 years have been printed into the leather.

  • Secrid wallet still like new after years

Had mine since 2013. Still going strong. Bought a 2nd one for the misses in 2020 or so, also still looks great

  • Twinwallet experience: great for travel, poor for cash

For my travels, I did get another Secrid - the TwinWallet. I don't recommend that for carrying cash, as after about 2 bills folded, it's a real pain to close. But that one is extremely useful when travelling and cards for Hotels/Airlines/Rental Cars, etc - are absolutely needed.

  • Comparison: Secrid vs Double Oak

I have both (Along with a Groove Life wallet). While I switch off pretty often, I would keep the Double Oak if it came down to one. The Secrid is marginally smaller and lighter, the DO just feels better, and is more practical for me. It weights more based on being all metal other than the lifter itself. Pretty much all of them are plastic to minimize card damage. Plus, DO utilizes 7075 aluminum versus the 6061 (I believe) of almost all of the other ejector wallets. The DO has Magsafe built into the card ejector itself. DO has the ability to lock your cards in. My older one you click up manually. The newer ones have a spring loaded auto lock. I haven't tried one but I'm completely satisfied with mine. You can buy most, if not all of the sleeves for the wallet separately to mix and match. I have the brown and the patina is beautiful. The DO leather is very nice IMO.
