I have a black 38, LL 33 and maple 33. The maple was my first and when I first got it, I used it for three months straight. This is highly unusual for me since I have ~80 bags that I rotate through frequently. I condition all my bags before use and I think that contributed to the softening because it got very soft and very slouchy after just a few carries. I still need to break in my 38 and the LL (mine has subtle distressing too which I actually prefer) but I fully expect them to soften up like my maple.

I have all 3 and the Goldilocks of the bunch is the 38. It's not overwhelmingly big like the OG Mott. The 33 is nice but I have a bigger frame so I felt like it looked silly Good luck you can't go wrong with either just depends on your vibe.

I have a Mott 38 and love it, but sometimes I have a lot to carry. I should have gotten the 56. So, I've also been searching for a larger-sized alternative that is more economical. There are a zillion hobo bags, but they often don't look unisex (more like a woman's purse).
