Cloud 6 Waterproof Sneakers Men
The On Cloud 6 Waterproof is a men's all-weather athletic sneaker built for everyday wear, travel, and light running, featuring a waterproof recycled polyester mesh upper and a CloudTec midsole with Zero-Gravity foam pods for cushioning. Key specifications include a padded collar, Cloud speed-lacing system, engineered Speedboard for stability, and a durable outsole; the footbed is molded for comfort. User feedback confirms the waterproofing is effective, but many report the fit is tight, especially in the midfoot and toe box, and the material is stiffer than the non-waterproof version, so sizing up or a break-in period may be needed.

Product Insights
The On Cloud 6 Waterproof Sneakers Men is a lightweight (296.3g), PFAs-free waterproof sneaker made with recycled materials, designed for urban commuting and travel, offering reliable waterproofing and a springy ride, but its tight midfoot and toe box, stiff upper, and polarizing forefoot cushioning (comfortable for heel strikers but causing pain for forefoot strikers after 3000 steps) necessitate sizing up and limit use to shorter walks, while its elastic speed laces and wide version improve fit for some, and buyers report three years of structural durability.
Verified claims
- Sizing
- Only 58% of reviewers find these true-to-size; many size up half to full size.
- Fit
- Midfoot and toe box are tight; waterproof upper lacks flex.
- Wide version
- Wide version available; recommended for those with wide feet.
- Cushioning
- Forefoot cushioning is polarizing: buyers report pain after 3,000 steps, but others find the shoe comfortable.
- Breathability
- The waterproof membrane reduces breathability, leading to sweaty feet in warm conditions.
- Waterproofing
- PFAs-free membrane keeps feet dry; buyers report reliable waterproofing over years.
- Weight
- Weighs 296.3g, lighter than HOKA Transport GTX and Vessi Weekend.
- Materials
- Made with 100% recycled polyester, bio-attributed foam, PFAs-free membrane, and at least 20% recycled content.
- Dye process
- Selected colorways use dope-dyed yarns for less water usage.
- Performance
- Weighs 296g and has a more energetic ride than the HOKA Transport.
- Break-in period
- Molded footbed conforms over a few wears; waterproof upper stays stiff.
- Step-in ease
- Buyers often size up 0.5–1 size to overcome the stiff upper's resistance to step-in.
- Speed laces
- Elastic speed laces ease step-in and adjust to swelling, but do not alleviate upper tightness.
- Style
- Buyers say it works as a versatile travel shoe that looks normal and handles running.
- Lacing system
- Elastic speed laces allow slip-on use without tying and adjust to foot swelling.
- Ideal use
- Best for urban commuting and travel; not for walks over 3,000 steps or runs.
- Longevity
- A buyer reports 3 years of use with no structural issues.
- Footbed
- Molded footbed conforms to the foot shape, reducing internal friction and wear.
- Lightweight construction
- Lightest waterproof sneaker at 296.3g with a springy toe-off.
- Fatigue reduction
- Elastic laces accommodate foot swelling and an easy step-in reduces fatigue.
- Durability
- Buyers report three years of use with no structural issues.
- Strike comfort
- Heel strikers find it comfortable; forefoot strikers report metatarsal pain.

Recommendation for On Cloud 6 Waterproof as a versatile all-black waterproof shoe
On Cloud 6 Waterproof. I have been asking the same question you have for ages and that’s what I settled on. They are extremely versatile, look passable as a normal everyday shoe but also running, fit is much nicer and less narrow than normal cloud 6’s (I’ve tried).

User finds Cloud 6 uncomfortable and tight in toe box
I just got the oncloud 6 from dicks and just walked a short distance and they suck! Super hard and pinching my toes when every review said all this room in the toe box.

Cloud 6 lacks cushioning and causes foot pain after limited walking
I like that they are a bit roomier, but they offer very little cushion in the metatarsal region. I can't walk in these more than 3,000 steps a day or it kills my left foot. For the price, these are not worth it. They are now my most uncomfortable pair of shoes.

Waterproof version is effective but too tight with no flex, user switched to Hokas
I have both, but my WP are at the back of the cupboard and have been replaced by Hokas. The waterproofing on them is great, no complaints there. My issue is that they are far too tight, and the material has no flex. For me it was very tight on the top of my foot where the tongue would be, even after dozens of miles of walking in them. Changed laces and that didn't help.
