These are the warmest & most comfortable winter socks I've ever owned. A lot like mohair socks (loopy wool interior Warmth!). They looked so thick that I was concerned it would make my boots too tight but didn't do that at all. No tight elastic cuff either, instead a rolled edge top. I bought several pairs to give as gifts next Christmas.
