Product Insights

The Momeni Adobe Bluish Checkers Handwoven Rug offers a durable checkerboard pattern with a 0.25-inch low pile of 50% wool and 50% jute, where wool squares feel soft and jute squares firm; initial shedding lasts weeks to months but slows significantly, while jute fades faster than wool, creating an evolving two-tone patina that gives the rug an antique look over time. Its handwoven construction without glue backing outlasts synthetic alternatives, requiring only blotting spills, professional cleaning every 12–18 months, and frequent vacuuming to prevent pests, making it a long-lasting piece that gains character with use.

Clearance
0.25-inch pile clears doors and lets chairs glide.

  • Personal experience with Momeni rugs: shedding but liked

I really like Momeni rugs—I’ve used them for years. They are not a Target specific brand. The brand is offered at many US retailers. The Momeni rugs I have do shed especially at first. The shedding does slow time with time.

  • Used Momeni rug proved better than synthetic alternative

For what it's worth, I bought the rug for $100. It was clearly much higher quality than the $750 synthetic Wayfair rug we're replacing. I took it home & vacuumed it. It was both softer & actually seemed to give up dirt & dust better. The seller said it was under his pool table for 20 years. I'm guessing he's exaggerating a little but it's in great shape even if it's 10 years old. When you combine the price of the rug we're replacing (that didn't even last a year before getting pretty stained & gross looking), I guess I may still have gotten a bargain considering this rug at this size retails for over $1k.
