The Firebird is a more shiny silky material not as stretchy. I'm not a fan of the tapered legs tight fitting of the SST pants and I prefer the straight leg of the older Firebird pants with the trefoil logo with no adidas writing under the logo. The newer Originals Firebird with the same SST trefoil logo with adidas writing has not as straight leg pants like the older pants. The material of the SST feels better and more plush soft but more tight to your body. The Firebird feels more silky and roomier baggy feeling.

Baggy Firebird pants sizing warning
In case anyone has the same question, and finds this post…they are not even close. I ended up sizing down and purchasing a Medium (I usually wear Large) and I’m still swimming in them. I went to to get them tailored, and they had ti cut off a lot of material. Even a S would be too big. Just fyi.

Tips for finding longer Adidas pants similar to Firebird
If you search the official Adidas eBay store, you can find many items in TALL (ST, MT, LT etc) and TALLER sizes (MT2, LT2). I think there is an oversized Firebird line as well. The hard to find Adicolor 70’s Track Pants run about 4 inches longer than expected in a size Large. The matching top that goes to it is the Funnel neck top. The Breckenbauer pants are similar style, but I am unsure of the length.
