Bambino Bag
The Jacquemus Bambino Bag is a small, structured top-handle shoulder bag with a trapezoid silhouette, crafted in smooth genuine leather with a twill lining and gold-tone hardware. It features a magnetic button flap, a grab handle, and an adjustable/removable crossbody strap, measuring 3.5 inches in height, 7 inches in length, and 2.5 inches in depth. Suitable for carrying light essentials such as a phone, card holder, and small personal items, the bag is commonly used as a fashion statement or special-occasion accessory; reviews note that its smooth leather may scratch easily and the compact interior limits capacity.

Product Insights
The Jacquemus Bambino Bag is a Vogue-endorsed runway staple priced at 1280 CAD, offering a low-profile, crossbody-to-clutch silhouette that shines as a hero piece in monochrome or high-low streetwear. Its smooth cow leather develops a burnished patina from scratches but is prone to quick scratching, wrinkling, and edge wear, while gold-tone hardware tarnishes within years and requires costly re-plating. The bag fits only a phone, card holder, and AirPods; overfilling prevents flap closure, and the flap opens only partway. Best reserved for brunch or events, not daily work, it demands careful conditioning, storage with straps detached, and cleaning with a soft dry cloth. Buyers compare its leather feel to The Row but note hardware and durability trailing fast fashion and Coach, leading many to wait for sales despite its 35-50% lower price than the Gucci Mini.

Practicality concerns for tiny Jacquemus bags
I’m that girl lol. I have a white one and used it twice. It’s honestly impractical, doesn’t even fit a phone.

Surprise at Jacquemus offering beyond the tiny Bambino
They have it in pink. Chefs kiss. ✨✨ I was surprised it was Jacquemus. Because I’ve only seen his popular tiny bambino bag!

Durability issues with the Bambino Long
I own the bambino long, I’m not sure if what I’m going to say applies to this one too. But for me, the leather is quite delicate (it scratches and wrinkles fast) and the flap is weirdly constructed: almost as if the inner leather is not ‘big’ enough. It limits the flexibility of the bag and the flap cannot open all the way. It’s strange because I’ve owned the same bag twice (one I returned due to the wrinkled) and the other one could open wider.

Overall consensus on Jacquemus quality
If you browse this subreddit, from a few years ago, when Jacquemus was at its height of popularity, there have been numerous reports of its poor quality. I never thought Jacquemus bags were well made. I think they were only ever popular because the price was attainable, Jacquemus himself was an emerging designer, and the silhouette was favourable at the time; it helps it came in a myriad of colours. But quality wise? I never saw it.

Practical review of Le Grand Bambino
I have this bag in light blue suede, I think the quality is good, but I would wait for this to go on sale personally. It is a really chic looking bag and in the black I think it would be so so versatile! The top handle carry is so cute, and having crossbody option is great. The only thing is it’s a bit stiff and doesn’t fit much since it’s a pretty slim bag. In my experience, the bag won’t fully close if you’ve filled it, so I can usually only fit my phone, card holder, AirPods and lip product, more than that and it won’t close.
