Ipanema sandals as travel footwear
Likewise for Ipanema sandals. They are getting a little harder to find these days but Nordstrom still carries them. Very thin and lightweight, and basically rubber flip flop material so perfect for showers, pools, and beaches, but also cute and dressy enough to wear to dinner. They go with me on almost every trip because they take up barely any space/weight.

Positive experience with Ipanema jandals
I got some of those fancy Ipanema jandals (the ones advertised by Gisele Bundchen) like 4 years ago and they were way more comfy than normal cheapie jandals and they've lasted way longer too. I like'em better than Havaianas.
