UGG
Tasman Ii Mule Slippers Women
The UGG Tasman II Mule Slippers for women are closed-toe, slide-style slippers intended for indoor comfort and casual outdoor wear. They feature a genuine suede upper, a 17mm UGGplush sheep wool lining and insole for warmth, an UGGbraid binding made from 100% recycled polyester, a heat-embossed logo, and a sugarcane-based EVA foam outsole. User reviews note that the fit runs small, so sizing up is recommended, especially for use with thick socks, and a break-in period may be needed to minimize heel slippage.

Product Insights
UGG's Tasman II Mule Slippers offer dense wool lining that molds to the foot, wicks moisture, and fights odor with lanolin, providing cushioning and temperature regulation. The sugarcane-based EVA outsole is recyclable and the binding uses 100% recycled polyester, supporting regenerative sourcing and eco-friendly materials. However, the suede upper lacks water resistance, requiring a protective spray and dry cleaning to avoid permanent spots. Sizing runs short and narrow, necessitating a full size up, and the heel stiffness resolves only after break-in, while a looser fit and heel slip limit extended outdoor wear despite secure heel fit compared to the Tazz. At $150, the slippers deliver greater per-year value due to a 2-3 year lifespan versus synthetic alternatives.
Verified claims
- Sizing
- Buyers report the Tasman II runs short and narrow; order one full size up, especially for thick socks.

Deep Research
Suede upper: patina, care, and indoor‑outdoor use
- Because any moisture on the suede exterior can ruin it, the safest way to handle odor is a plant-based dry shoe spray applied inside the lining — it neutralizes smell without even a mist of water reaching the suede, preserving both the upper and the sheepskin.
- For salt stains from winter sidewalks, a 1:1 white vinegar and water solution lightly dabbed onto the affected area draws out the salt without soaking the suede — but the cloth must be barely damp, and the slipper must be stuffed with newspaper and dried naturally away from heat to prevent water spots and deformation.
- The suede upper on UGG Tasmans absorbs moisture unevenly, so even a small splash of water can leave dark, permanent spots that no amount of brushing can reverse — effectively ruining the slipper's look the moment the suede gets unevenly wet.
- A soft-bristled suede brush worked in one-directional strokes lifts surface dirt and restores the nap, while a dedicated suede eraser removes scuffs — this fully dry routine preserves the original texture and eliminates any risk of water spots.
17mm sheepskin thickness: what it means for fit and feel
- The 17mm pile height is the same thickness used in UGG's most plush slippers like the Coquette and Cozy Sophistication, signaling that the Tasman II is built to the brand's top-tier wool spec — the deep, dense pile that first earned UGG its reputation for cloud-like warmth.
Sugarcane EVA outsole: traction, durability, and eco-impact
- UGG's sugarcane EVA delivers the same functional performance as the brand's proprietary Treadlite by UGG outsole — equal cushioning, traction, and ultra-light weight — so the Tasman II does not ask you to compromise on underfoot comfort for the sustainability gain.
- Unlike some bio-plastics that require special industrial composting or separate collection, sugarcane-derived EVA can be recycled through the same established routes as standard petroleum-based EVA, making end-of-life handling more practical and less reliant on emerging waste infrastructure.
- The sugarcane used to make the outsole's bio-based ethylene is grown in southern Brazil without irrigation, relying solely on rainfall, and the processing biomass is cycled back to power the mill and fertilize the next crop — creating a regenerative loop that reduces the slipper's carbon footprint at every stage from crop to sole.
- The sugarcane-based compound feels similar to rubber in softness and flexibility, and it cushions steps with shock-absorbing properties — so the outsole maintains the plush, forgiving ride that makes UGG slippers feel instantly comfortable on hard floors.
Sheepskin lining: natural warmth and breathability
- The 17mm UGGplush lining uses hollow wool fibers that trap warm air next to the skin while releasing moisture vapor, so feet stay warm without the sweatiness typical of synthetic fleece — a genuine four-season comfort characteristic that makes these slippers wearable even in transitional weather.
- The natural lanolin and breathable structure of sheepskin make the Tasman II's lining inherently hypoallergenic — it conditions skin rather than abrading it — which matters for buyers with eczema or sensitive feet, as they can avoid the synthetic-fabric irritation that often drives returns of cheaper slippers.
- Wool's hygroscopic ability to absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture before it feels damp means the 17mm UGGplush lining actively pulls sweat away from the skin, keeping the foot environment dry — a critical advantage for anyone who wears slippers barefoot for hours, because it prevents the damp, friction-prone conditions that synthetics create.
- Lanolin, a natural wax retained in sheepskin, imparts antibacterial properties that inhibit odor-causing bacteria — so the Tasman II's 17mm lining stays fresher longer than synthetic-lined slippers, which often develop persistent odors after a few months of use and require more frequent washing.
- The dense wool fibers act like miniature springs that distribute body weight and cushion pressure points, and because sheepskin compresses slightly over time to mold to individual foot contours, the break-in period reported by Tasman II wearers is actually the lining customizing itself — resulting in a personalized fit that enhances stability and reduces heel slippage without the need for additional insoles.
- While synthetic shearling slippers typically need replacement every 6–12 months due to matting and flattening, genuine shearling like the Tasman II's lining remains plush for 2–3 years, meaning the $150 CAD price is spread over a longer effective life and includes the natural resilience of wool fibers that don't permanently compact the way polyester fleece does.
Recycled polyester braid: eco-conscious trim
- UGGbraid appears as a signature trim on multiple UGG product categories — from slippers to pullovers — making the Tasman II's recycled polyester binding part of a deliberate, visible sustainable-design language across the brand rather than an isolated spec.
- The UGGbraid binding on the Tasman II is made from 100% recycled polyester fibres, which are typically produced by melting and re-spinning post-consumer PET bottles — replacing virgin polyester made from crude oil and diverting plastic waste from landfills.

Pantoufle Hugg
Q&A
6 answered- Are the Tasman II mule slippers available in wide widths, or do they accommodate wide feet?
- The Tasman II mule slippers are not offered in specific wide widths. However, the genuine suede upper does stretch with wear, and many with wider feet report that the slippers accommodate them after a break-in period.
- Is the suede upper treated with a water-resistant coating for light outdoor use?
- No, the suede upper is not described as treated with a water-resistant coating. For light outdoor use in dry conditions it's fine, but it is not recommended for wet weather without additional protection.
- Does the sugarcane-based EVA outsole provide good traction on wet or smooth indoor surfaces?
- The sugarcane-based EVA outsole provides adequate traction for typical indoor and casual outdoor surfaces. However, EVA foam can be slippery on very wet or polished floors, so caution is advised on such surfaces.
- How much does the suede upper stretch with wear, and does the fit change significantly over time?

Tasman sizing runs small compared to Tazz
BUT I find the Tasmans run small… I’m a size 5 through and through.. in Tazz and literally everything else… however in the Tasman the 5s were DEFF really snug like my toes were a little scrunched… Still wearable though… but the next pair I bought I did most deff end up sizing up to a 6 and they fit absolutely PERFECTLY!

Heel slip and everyday use of Tasman slippers
I have tasmans and I wondered the same thing about the heel and the size. Honestly, that’s just how they are when you wear your size. You pretty much have to get used to them. No clue how people casually wear them out in public with them, or why they are so popular, giving how annoying they are to walk with them for a while. I just use them as house shoes lol.

Replica Tasman comfort and sizing recommendation
Very warm and comfortable, but I do have one regret: I should’ve sized up. I went TTS (UK10), and while they fit, they’re too snug if I wear thick socks. If you plan to rock them with socks in winter, definitely go one size up.
