Strong endorsement for Herschel Bowen duffle for business travel
I would recommend the Herschel Bowen duffle and an eagle creek packing folder. It fits under the seat, but is also slim enough to fit in the overheads when they seem too full for other bags. It looks professional enough and has a laptop sleeve. I originally bought the bag (female 5'4"), then lent it to my dad (6'1") as he flies three to four times per month. He decided to keep it because it worked so well for him. I ended up buying a second one. It is heavier empty than some other bags but it's durable.
