Product Insights
The Adama Modscape Vinyl Rug is a non-porous PVC runner that keeps allergens and spills at the surface—routine broom, mop, or robot-vacuum passes remove dust and dander, and milk or juice wipe off with a damp cloth and mild soap, leaving no stain or odor—while its certified non-slip backing anchors it safely on hardwood or laminate without a rug pad. Its mid-century look depends on a warm neutral base: Bronze/Amber suits walnut-and-brass rooms, Khaki/Sage/Olive is the lighter Scandinavian-sage choice. Sold in 60×240 and 80×240 sizes, the wider 80×240 costs $249 CAD versus $209, adding roughly one-third more floor coverage for an all-in cost about 18% higher, and every variant carries a $15 shipping fee and a $50 return surcharge, shipping directly from the supplier in 10–15 days.
Verified claims
- Warm neutral base
- Both colorways need a warm neutral base; cool gray walls undercut their mid-century look.
- Colorway styling
- Bronze/Amber suits walnut-and-brass rooms; Khaki/Sage/Olive is the lighter Scandinavian-sage choice.
- Colorway availability
- Bronze/Amber and Khaki/Sage/Olive are each available in 60×240 and 80×240; the wider runner costs CAD $40 more.
- Hypoallergenic
- Dust, pet dander, and pollen have no pile to sink into on the non-porous PVC face.
- Daily care
- Routine allergen removal is a broom, mop, or robot vacuum pass.
- Cleaning
- Spills clean with damp cloth and mild soap, no strong detergents needed.
- Spill resistance
- Milk or juice spills under a dining table bead on the non-porous PVC/polyester surface and wipe off leaving no stain or odor.
- Slip resistance
- Built-in non-slip backing keeps the runner in place on hardwood or laminate floors with no rug pad needed.
- Width coverage
- 80x240 cm runner adds one-third more floor coverage than 60x240 cm for $40 CAD more
- Variant fees
- 60 cm and 80 cm widths incur the same $15 shipping and $50 return surcharge
- Width economics
- 80×240 costs roughly 18% more all-in than the 60×240, for about one-third more floor area.
- Color pricing
- Bronze/Amber and Khaki/Sage/Olive are stocked in both widths at the same price.
- Floor safety
- Safe for hardwood and laminate floors with built-in non-slip backing.
- Rug pad
- No separate rug pad is needed to keep it in place on hard floors.
- Variant prices
- The 80×240 runner is $249 CAD — $40 over the 60×240’s $209 — and adds roughly one-third more floor area.
- Buying logistics
- Every variant ships direct from the supplier in about 10–15 days, with the same $15 shipping and $50 return surcharges.
- Retro mid-century pattern
- The Modscape design is inspired by the mid-century modern trend and has retro charm from oversized, colorful geometric shapes.
- Water resistance
- The PVC/polyester surface is water-resistant and stain-resistant, so spills sit on the smooth surface rather than soaking in.
- Thickness
- The rug is approximately 2.2 mm thick (about 1/16 inch); Adama sources list both 1/16" and 2.2 mm, so there may be slight variation.
- Flattening after unrolling
- A new Modscape rug may need up to 24 hours to lie completely flat after unrolling; unroll it in place and give it that settling time before judging curled edges.

Audiences, workflows, and fit — spill_and_odor_resistance_under_the_table
For families with young children, Modscape's water- and stain-resistant PVC/polyester surface lets spilled milk or juice bead on top for a mild-soap wipe, and because the non-porous material doesn't absorb liquids, the spill doesn't sink in and sour into a lingering dining-room odor.[1,2]
